The star of the Portuguese national team's midfield, Bruno Fernandes, appeared in press statements after qualifying for the quarter-finals of Euro 2024 by defeating Slovenia on penalties after a scoreless draw.

He said The player: “There were some spaces, and Slovenia tried to play between the lines and crosses. In the first half, we created some danger in those moves, but we did not score.”

He added: “There were always a few misses, a few long passes, and Slovenia defended well, but we were always in front, and we gave them some chances on the counterattack.”

He concluded: “The most important thing is to qualify for the quarter-finals. Obviously we want to improve, score more goals, and create more chances, and I think we will be able to do that in the next match.”
