After Carvajal, Getafe opens the door to signing Ramos
Ángel Torres, the president of Getafe, has revealed the possibility of signing veteran defender Sergio Ramos in the near future, confirming that the player's name is on the list of options the club is considering to strengthen its squad.
Torres stated in remarks to the "Tablero Deportivo" program on Radio Nacional Española that he spoke with Ramos' brother and his agent regarding the possibility of him joining the team, noting that the deal was not a priority for the club at this time.
Getafe's president explained that the team already has six players in the centre-back position, which is why the management has focused on strengthening the flanks in recent times. However, he did not rule out the possibility of moving to sign a new defender during the winter transfer window in January.
Torres added: "Sergio Ramos can join, this is a file we have been working on for a while, but it was not our priority, as our main goal was to sign players for the wide positions."
Getafe continue their efforts to strengthen their squad with prominent names, having successfully signed Danny Carvajal. Meanwhile, the club is awaiting developments in their attempts to sign Jadon Sancho, as part of their efforts to bolster their lineup during the current season.
