Al-Qiai: Zamalek's Championships Were Achieved with the Help of Al-Ahly Players
Adli Al-Qiai, the former head of the football company at Al-Ahly club, stated that the real competition in Egyptian football is now limited to Al-Ahly and Pyramids, and he affirmed that Zamalek's championships were achieved with the contribution of Al-Ahly players.
Al-Qiai said during the program "Malik wa Kitaba" broadcast on Al-Ahly channel: "Zamalek always loses when compared to Al-Ahly, because history and statistics do not favor them."
He added: "Previously, Zamalek officials talked about refereeing and injustice, and now they have started to repeat the tune of Al-Ahly's dominance over the championships."
Al-Qiai confirmed that history proves Al-Ahly's superiority over Zamalek and that Zamalek rarely managed to win two consecutive titles.
He continued: "Recently, we have been hearing strange statements from some Zamalek officials, instead of focusing on correcting the club's course, it is unreasonable to accuse Al-Ahly of being the cause of their problems."
He pointed out that several of Zamalek's most important championships were achieved with the help of players who transferred from Al-Ahly, such as Jamal Abdel Hamid, Ayman Mansour, and Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan.
Al-Qiai concluded his statements: "The only player who did not renew his contract with Zamalek is Zizou, and yet Al-Ahly did not intervene to negotiate with him out of respect for Zamalek's financial circumstances, which confirms that the accusations of depleting the team are baseless."
