Arsenal Defender Close to Leaving for Borussia Dortmund
Reports have revealed that German club Borussia Dortmund is seeking to sign Arsenal's left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko during the upcoming summer transfer window.
According to 'Football Insider', Dortmund, long-time admirers of the 28-year-old Ukrainian player, is preparing to make an official offer this summer, especially after his role diminished under coach Mikel Arteta and losing his starting position to young player Myles Lewis-Skelly.
It seems that Zinchenko is open to the idea of leaving Arsenal in search of regular playing minutes, having only participated in 17 matches across all competitions this season, and not starting any league matches since December.
Arsenal was willing to sell him last January, but the lack of suitable offers prevented that; however, the club's management is now more prepared to part ways with him as part of a plan to offload some non-essential players and save wages to strengthen the squad.
It is worth noting that Arsenal is also planning to sell Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga after their loans to Lazio and Sevilla end, as part of a broader plan to reshape the team.
